Our son was still nursing…
…when we had the pleasure of a client meeting with Shelby, Brooks, and the most fantastic MOB there ever was, Cindy. Of course, these three wouldn’t hear of us not bringing our little one along, and they didn’t even blink an eye when a breast definitely made an appearance. We chatted and laughed for an hour over our coffees, talked a little bit about photography but all knew we were all already in mutual love with each other, and left the coffee shop giggling about how excited we were for June 15th.
Well that day did not disappoint, and not just because Cindy had texted a few weeks prior asking what our favorite snacks were and then had them all packaged up for us when we walked into girls’ prep at The Crescent; as toddler parents, we’ve learned the value of unwavering access to snacks. That day was phenomenal because Shelby and Brooks were radiant, joyful, a touch goofy, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an aerial groom. That’s right…aerial. He’s definitely going down into the Menary Weddings books as the groom who spent the most time in the air!

No post about the Wolken/Vehslage clan would be complete without a Cindy Wolken, Mother of the Bride Extraordinaire, love gush-fest. Cindy took the planning reins in the beginning since Shelby and Brooks were still living in New York at the time, which meant we Menarys had the pleasure of many a delightful phone call with this mama. This woman is pure sunshine and the kindest of them all. The Shelby apple didn’t fall far from the Cindy tree, and add Brooks’s hilarious antics, and we have ourselves a phenomenal wedding day.
